It's coming. I know it doesn't feel like it but the best season of the year is on the way. I went on a little craft crawl to a couple of my favorite local shops and picked up some Cosmo floss and a few fat quarters for fall finishing projects.
It's been a long time since I got a new piece of pottery. We don't have as many local potters here as we did where we used to live, so our pottery collecting has slowed significantly. However! While looking for something else (isn't that always the way?) I stumbled across this gorgeous little bread baker from an Ohio potter. It makes a very small loaf, just right for two people. Since I'm always on the look-out for small bakeware to feed my tiny baking obsession, I snapped it up. I am absolutely delighted with it and can't wait to try it out when fall baking season rolls around. Happily, it comes with a dozen recipes! Tiger Lily did not miss out on goodies. She has a passion for tissue paper and whenever something arrives in the mail wrapped in it, the tissue paper goes to her.

Oh those Autumn fabrics are just fabric, especially the pumpkin fabric. I love the pottery. I add a piece every once in a while as I also love blown glass pieces. How amusing that Tiger Lily gets a kick out of tissue paper. Sort of like people with bubble wrap.

Beautiful fabric, floss, and pottery! I have a question for you....do you remember the little counting pins you made with the heart button? You sent me one once and I used it all the time until I broke it the other day. Would you happen to have a tutorial on how you made them? Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteVery simple! Just find a bead you like (I prefer flat ones) and put a little super glue on the eye of a good sized needle and stick it in the bead. The size and shape of the bead and the size of the needle is just personal preference. I think flat beads are easier to handle and they lie on the fabric better when used as counting pins. I also like larger needles (I may have used a 24). But you can use whatever you prefer. Couldn't be easier!
DeleteI love pottery, too, and that bread baker is awesome! My son took ceramics last year and made some really pretty bowls on the wheel. I hope he can find a studio to work in after he graduates high school so he can continue to learn.
