Christmas Ornament Catch-Up!

Victory! Everybody gets cookies today to celebrate my accomplishment! I have finally caught up on my Christmas ornament finishing!

We got married at Christmas time and every year for the last 25 years I have stitched an ornament for each of us (Mr. Wonderful chooses his). Up until 2021 we always chose our ornaments from the annual Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament issue, but as that magazine has changed since it was sold, sometimes we find designs we like and sometimes we don't, so we choose from other sources.

Anyway, 2021 began a very stormy season in our lives, which lasted for several years, and while I was getting our ornaments stitched each year, I wasn't getting them finished. Five years of ornaments piled up.

And I've finally got them all finished. (*sniffle*)

Enjoy a little Christmas in March!

2021
Pig no longer available; teacup Sugar Stitches Design

2022
Owl no longer available; chickadee from my stash

2023
Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament issue; Polar Night Sighting also available here

2024
Lighthouse Cosford Rise Stitchery; Tis the Season JCS issue

2025
JCS issue, both are color conversions

Of all our Christmas trees, our handmade ornament tree is our favorite, and our collection has outgrown the tree we use for it. Mr. Wonderful and I were discussing the need for a bigger tree, and that was before I got all these finished!

Hope you enjoyed Christmas in March! Back soon!

  11. You are an inspiration. I too, am so behind in "finishing" my ornaments. I love to stitch them, but drag my feet when it comes to finishing. I was trying to make one each year for my grandchildren, and I have. But not finished. I will start, and just see where it takes me. Yours are just beautiful, and I'd like to lay mine out like that when I'm finished. Thank you!

  13. I’m glad life settled down so you could focus on finishing these ornaments. Your tree will be lovely with all of these new additions.

I’m also way behind on finishing ornaments. I recently retired, so I have a lot more time for stitching and finishing.

  14. Your ornaments are beyond awesome. I love the unconventional (to me) trims you used on the pig, the lighthouse and the tiered tray. You are giving me ideas.

    1. Thank you! I'm a collector of "unconventional trims" 😁 If I see something I like, I buy it and squirrel it away. I've had a lot of my collection for years and years.
