The Birds Are Back!

Happy Spring, y'all! The birds are back! I have been looking forward to getting back to last year's Summer Birds project ever since I wrapped it up last fall. I don't have that many yet, but I wanted to display them anyway so I just filled in with little toadstools and nests and birds I already had. I'm delighted with how it turned out and am already working on new additions!

I also used my Nimble Birds WIP to fill the space (I really need to get going on that one).

Ready to go!

And my first Summer Birds finish for this year, from Loon Lake by Crossed Wing Collection, stitched on 28 ct. Twilight Mist Jobelan.

Off and running! This display will stay out til the fall, so I've got all spring and summer to add to it. Can't wait!

If you want to know about any of the designs, click on the "birds" label for this post or in the right sidebar, and scroll til you find it. Most of these finishes are from last year.

Happy Stitching!

  2. What a wonderful bird are back display, Honeybee! I love it and I can't wait to see what other birds are added. The Loon piece is pretty and it looks fabulous on the Twilight Mist Jobelan. Do they still make that one or has it been discontinued?

    1. Unfortunately it's discontinued. For a while, Wichelt had a collection of hand-dyed look fabric that was really beautiful, but they're not making it anymore.

    2. It is a shame they aren't making it anymore. They had a couple blues along with the Twilight Mist that I really liked. They had a great hand to them.

  6. What a beautiful and cheerful display. As much as I said I dreaded pulling down the winter decor and putting up the spring, your beautiful work has me ready to do it.

  7. What a lovely and cheerful spring display! I love how you have such a great variety in your beautiful bird finishes. The loons are so pretty, I was thrilled to see them years ago in Minnesota, and they are really gorgeous birds. Happy Spring!
