For a quick tutorial on how to make templates for unusual shapes, see this post, and this one for a couple more details.
And here's an ornament from the 2016 Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament issue.
I made a little tree using a cinnamon stick and a few snippets of evergreen trim from Hobby Lobby.
Nice ornaments. Great stitching
ReplyDeleteNice job. You finished these very well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love your finishing! The Season's Greetings is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteBoth your Christmas finishes are stunning, Honeybee! I like your tree that you created for the second one and I really like the shaped finish for the first one. Well done!
ReplyDeleteHoneybee, The Seasons Greetings is in my to frog pile, I got all the way around with the border and it did not match...yours is inspiring me to redo it. I love how you kept the shape of the stitch and appreciate the tutorials. It's finished lovely as the other Christmas stitch! Nice addition of the tree too! Mary@stitchingfriendsforever
ReplyDeleteThe finishing here is obviously delightful but the photography is wonderful, especially that last shot. Great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat finishes, and love the cinnamon stick tree, great idea.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn
Wonderful, just wonderful finishes! I adore the cinnamon tree embellishment.
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly very creative. The tree made from the cinnamon stick and greens was absolutely adorable.
ReplyDeleteLove the wee tree, very clever.
ReplyDeleteKay.
Two great ornies and a wonderful way to make the tree embellishment too.
ReplyDeleteLove both of these wonderful stitches, Honeybee. But I especially love how you finished them. You did such an awesome and creative job. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever
