We have new babies! Butterfly (left) and Marigold (right) are 9 week old tortie sisters. They are rescue babies from a local shelter we are fostering to adopt. They had a rough start and although they're two months old, they are *tiny*. They're doing well, though. And... they're going to be floofy!
I want to thank each and every one of you who left such heartfelt comments on my post about Tiger Lily. It meant a lot to me that so many of y'all share our heartbreak. The grief is still so raw, and I thought about waiting to find another kitty, but I couldn't stand the house without that little spirit. It was an odd series of events that lead us to these little girls, but then again, maybe "odd" is just the word we use to describe a plan we can't see.
So that's my happy news. Y'all have shared our sadness, and I hope you'll share our happiness with these new little ones. Our grief isn't gone, but it's not alone anymore. Now there is joy with it, which makes it a bit more bearable.
Happy Halloween, from our wee black & orange babies!
They are absolutely ADORABLE!

ReplyDeleteOh Honeybee, they are precious. What beautiful coloring and I love that they are going to be floofy. I see Tiger Lily's in this. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteDear Honeybee, I am so excited for you. We had four senior cats and during covid, we lost all of them and our hearts were just broken. This summer we adopted two senior brothers and while there, a young cat (about a year) decided she needed to come home with us as well. Two days later, a little stray cat showed up at the back door and just like that, we have four cats again! Enjoy your precious kitties. We never forget our past furrbabies, but thank Goodness our hearts keep opening to love.
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet babies, Have fun making new memories
ReplyDeleteI cried before, and I cried again - different reasons, such beautiful girls all of them - much happiness to you for the future. Elaine UK

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're doing this! Their kitten energy is just what you need! Two of our older cats died within a week of each other in September. Although we were very sad to lose them, we have other cats, including a litter we rescued last year. They're almost 18 months old now and very active. Anne in PA
