Blog Book & Baby Update

My 2022 blog book has arrived, the smallest yet, and I have mixed feelings about it. I'm always glad to get a hard copy of my blog into my hands, but this was my last with Tiger Lily in it, and that's so hard.

As always, she graces the back cover, one last time.

Next year's back cover will be the babies, although by then, they'll be all grown up. But I think because they were so tiny and fragile when we got them, no matter how old they are or how big they get, we'll always think of them as "the babies".

Baby update: Five months old! Marigold has reached 6 lbs, Butterfly is almost there. It's starting to get a little awkward to pick them up and hold them at the same time... almost 12 pounds of kitty! Hard to believe when they came home we could carry both of them in one hand! Marigold has joined her sister in learning to fetch. They both give kisses, and we're working on our household manners. Learning stitching manners is going to be a challenge for later. They are so very, very "helpful" with everything, and they have to learn not to "help" with stitching. We'll get there eventually (I keep telling myself)!

  1. I remember the last time I brought "babies" home - a little brother and sister who promptly made themselves at home is a tiny brown box about 6 inches square, they snuggled in and went to sleep in that box ignoring all the lovely soft beds and blankets we'd put down for them. As they grew it seemed impossible that they could ever have fitted in that tiny box, and they both grew into amazing sewing helpers! not! Love Tiger Lily's pic on the back.

  2. Yes, yes you WILL always think of them as "the babies!" I'm the youngest of my dad's kids. I'm 6'2, 52 years old and the entire family STILL refers to me as "the baby "

    Your blog book is beautiful as always. Tiger Lily will ALWAYS be with you.

  3. I love your blog book ideas. I started documenting and photographing my projects last year which I keep in a binder. I don't know why I waited 66 years to do it but I am so happy I did.

  8. Oh Honeybee, what a lovely blog book for 2022. Tiger Lily will always be with you. Marigold and Butterfly will probably remain "the babies". I love their coloring.

  9. When I lost my kitty soul mate Tailor I ended up adopting two kittens to help me heal. They'll be seven this spring but I still call them "the kittens".

  10. TigerLily is missed by all, was like having a niece kitty. You loved hearing stories about her and even though you couldn't pet her in real life, she was part of the family that just lived too far away. The babies are so cute. May they continued to grow and bring love to you. I love how you are so hopefully that you will teach them not to help with stitching. :o}

  11. I like how you have these blog books made, so lovely to have it all together. You and your family had a difficult year so it makes sense this book is smaller than others, but it's still so nice to have all your posts in one place. Tiger Lily will always be with you. I miss seeing her beauty shots and hearing about her. I know Butterfly and Marigold will always be your babies, and I'm looking forward to seeing them grow up.

  13. Hi Honeybee: The boos are amazing, who do you have publish them if you do not mind me asking.
    Your babies are so sweet, I can only imagine how hard it is to have Tiger Lily in your book, but you have such beautiful memories of her beauty and love.
